Deputy PM Bozidar Djelic says that parliament will ratify the energy agreement between Russia and Serbia in September. “The Russian side is defending Russian interests, the Serbian side Serbian interests, but we’ll find a common interest over the Serbian Oil Industry (NIS), and the energy agreement will be ratified,” Djelic told a press conference in Nis, adding that an agreement over NIS would be reached by the end of the year. He insisted that both branches of Corridor 10 towards Bulgaria and Macedonia would be complete by the end of the current mandate. “Both branches will be complete, and this will be worth EUR 1.2bn, so a big investment period lies ahead,” said Djelic. Speaking of decentralization, the minister said that it would be “entirely logical if the Tobacco Department, as well as parts of the Pensions and Disability Fund and the Republic Institute for Health Insurance moved to Nis.”
