The Ministry of Energy announced that it could opt for a change of prices of fuel after a review of trends. According to the analysis of the world oil market prices in the last two weeks, Serbians can expect a drop in the oil and gas prices. Ministry looks into oil prices Some Belgrade media are reporting that this might range from RSD 1.5 to 2 per liter. Oil rose to close to USD 126 a barrel on July 25, rebounding from a two week low. The rise was explained by the fact that the weakening of the dollar made oil more attractive for investors. The U.S. light crude for September delivery in the New York stock markets rose by USD 0.68 – to USD 126.17, while the European Brent crude in Londonf also rose by 0.86, to USD 127.30 a barrel. On Wednesday July 23, the price of oil had dropped by USD 4, and reached USD 124,44 – the lowest price since June 4. The crude prices are now some 15 percent down from their record peak of over USD 147 a barrel on July 11. In Serbia, a Ministry of Energy proposal to change the prices of fuel must first be approved by the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Trade, before it becomes official with the publishing in the Official Gazette. The last change occurred on July 12, when the prices of gasoline and diesel were up RSD 1.38 and 1.63 per liter respectively.

Some Belgrade media are reporting that this might range from RSD 1.5 to 2 per liter.
