Exports still lag behind imports

Serbia's total trade in the 11 months of this year amounted to USD 24.42bn, the latest statistics show. The figure was 38.8 percent higher than in the same period last year, the Statistical Office said in a statement issued Monday in Belgrade. Exports still lag behind imports Serbia exported goods worth nearly USD 8bn, a 38.1 percent increase, while imports reached the USD 16.4bn, up 39.2 percent on last year. The trade deficit amounted to USD 8.455bn and rose by 40.3 percent. The coverage of import by export amounted to 48.6 percent and was slightly lower than in the same period last year, when it stood at 49 percent, as a result of higher import growth in the past two months. Serbia's main export partners were Italy, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Germany, while import partners were Russia, Germany and Italy. More than one half of the total trade was with EU countries, and surplus was realized with Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia.

Serbia exported goods worth nearly USD 8bn, a 38.1 percent increase, while imports reached the USD 16.4bn, up 39.2 percent on last year.

The trade deficit amounted to USD 8.455bn and rose by 40.3 percent.

The coverage of import by export amounted to 48.6 percent and was slightly lower than in the same period last year, when it stood at 49 percent, as a result of higher import growth in the past two months.

Serbia's main export partners were Italy, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Germany, while import partners were Russia, Germany and Italy.

More than one half of the total trade was with EU countries, and surplus was realized with Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia.
