Merkel says there's no reason to lift anti-Russia sanctions

Reuters reported this quoting Merkel's interview with RND.

Merkel blamed Russia for "caused a major crisis" when it "annexed Crimea in 2014."

"Europe had to react against this violation of basic principles," she said, adding that she was working with French President Francois Hollande "with all one's strength" to urge Ukraine and Russia to implement the Minsk agreement.

"This is and remains the yardstick for the future of the sanctions," Merkel said.
