Judge Diane Frenier sentenced Brian Walsh to life in prison without parole for murder and ordered him to serve consecutive terms for two other convictions to which he previously pleaded guilty.

Frenier sentenced Walsh to the statutory maximum for both of those lesser charges - up to 20 years in prison for obstructing and misleading police and up to three years in prison for improper disposal of the body.

The sentencing is the culmination of a case that drew national attention nearly three years ago, first with the search for then-39-year-old Anna Walsh, and then with chilling evidence that her husband had searched the Internet for topics such as "how to get rid of a body" and other queries related to removing traces of blood.

Brian Walsh left behind a trail of evidence that prosecutors used to reconstruct his actions when disposing of his wife's remains.

The prosecution told the jury that Ana had lost her life violently at the hands of her husband, after which he dismembered her body and dumped her remains in dumpsters in the area.

Walsh then lied to investigators, claiming she disappeared on January 1, 2023, after leaving their home in Massachusetts to attend to an urgent business matter in Washington, D.C., where she worked as a real estate manager and was an occasional resident.

Anna Walsh's body was never found.
