The President of the United States, Donald Trump, said he is 'considering taking control of' the Strait of Hormuz, a key maritime route for global oil shipments'.

He added that Washington, D.C. is in “very good shape” in its conflict with Iran and that the United States will “monitor the strait very closely,” which, he said, is “in excellent condition,” Reuters reported.

The war between Iran and the United States has raised the stakes for the global economy, while the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that it could block oil shipments from the Persian Gulf if U.S. and Israel attacks do not stop.

Plan for the Day After

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), an organization of Iranians in exile, announced that it intends to establish a provisional government if the country’s rulers in Tehran are overthrown.

This government would be based on a ten-point plan drafted by its leader, Maryam Rajavi, the National Council of Resistance of Iran announced at its headquarters in Paris.

The task of this government would be to hand power over to the people through elections within six months of the overthrow of the current hardline rulers.

The council rejects a government led by the son of Iran’s last Shah, Reza Pahlavi, who lives in exile in the United States, and also rejects clerical rule.

Controversial organization with a terrorist past

The National Council of Resistance of Iran was founded in 1981 by the so-called People’s Mujahedin of Iran (MEK). The group set itself the goal of overthrowing Iran’s ruling structure.

However, the organization is highly controversial and is largely rejected by opposition figures both inside and outside Iran, and its activities are banned in the Islamic Republic.

The original Islamist-socialist movement, People’s Mujahedin of Iran (MEK), which waged armed conflict against Iran from Iraq, has at times been designated a terrorist organization by Europe and the United States. Critics consider its structures undemocratic and totalitarian.

The group stated in Paris that it possesses a “liberation army” capable of operating even in the most secure areas of Iran. In addition to its resistance units, it maintains a social network of supporters as well as an intelligence network.

IRGC calls on Middle Eastern residents to report U.S. troop locations

The intelligence wing of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) today urged citizens in the Middle East to help locate approximately 11,000 U.S. troops stationed in hotels and private accommodations in the region.

The statement claimed that the U.S. military is attempting to “use Arab brothers as human shields,” according to Al Jazeera.

“We are compelled to identify and target Americans. Therefore, it is better not to hide them in hotels and to stay away from their locations. It is your Islamic duty to accurately report the hiding places of American terrorists and to send us information via Telegram,” the IRGC statement read.
