Serbian FM, African Union official sign memorandum

"The signing of the memorandum and the visit by the chairperson of the African Union Commission are historic events. Our relations are based on the traditional friendship between the former Yugoslavia and the African states," Dacic told reporters after signing the memorandum on Saturday.

Dacic expressed Serbia's willingness to build partnership relations and thanked the African countries for their support to Serbia's territorial integrity.

Zuma thanked for the hospitality, adding that Africa had excellent relations of true friendship and solidarity with Yugoslavia, but also with Serbia, which is Yugoslavia's successor.

She expressed hope that Serbia will be one of the countries to invest in Africa, adding that today's signing of the memorandum has initiated a new phase in the relations between Serbia and the African states.
