At its next meeting on January 31, the working group will discuss Jat's fleet, its draft business plan for 2013, proposals from the Ministry of Transport, and other issues, Popović told Tanjug.
Jat Airways will be reorganized in such a way as to become a leader in the domestic market, have an adequate number of employees and be competitive, said Popović, who is a member of the working group.
Jat will thus become attractive to potential strategic partners and the government could then think about a partnership with some foreign company, and the same goes for Jat Tehnika.
The assistant minister said the claims being made in certain media that the government was considering turning Jat into a low-cost airline were untrue.
"Jat cannot be a low-cost airline, because it is Serbia's national airline which wants to be dominant in the market," said Popović.
In 2008, a 51 percent stake in Jat was offered at a tender for the price of EUR 51 million, but there were no bidders.
Bur Ari they have good intentions to make their family ,relatives ,friends ,cronies wealthy before the business goes under. The good news Serbia JAT is increasing flights to Croatian coastal cities [link] by 100% because of the exceptionally high demand. The newly instantly wealthy want good vacations and places to spend their ill gotten gains. I'm just wondering if they even pay for the flights or do the poor hard pressed Serbian tax payer picks up the tab probably the latter.

Holy wizard cape, I actually agree with Ari for the first time. And how all governments are the biggest mafia in their land/state who can legally rob and imprison people, with no consequences.
Ari, if you take your thought to its conclusive end, you will understand that there are only people, and all states, including Serbia and Kosovo, are just religious make-believe that political priests use to get power and money.
Practical Anarcho-Capitalism for the win.

It is much more dangerous when government officials become managers of large businesses than when businessmen (who have the good intentions) become gov't officials. The reason why Serbia's economy is in shambles is because A. you pay high taxes for this bloated bureaucracy so that others can employ their friends and B. when they are all employed, none of them know a damn thing about the business they are managing so of course it starts to suffer.
