1. Greetings, does anyone have an idea of Dr. Trajkovic's birthday? I am an American and can not read Serbian, and her biographies in English are hard to come by and sketchy. ( I have seen conflicting dates in regards to her birth).

I hope someone can provide definitive information.

    Thank you

Would you please explain to me what do you mean writing Poland in quotation marks?

  3. "Yesterday mrs. Trajković said that partition would endanger the Serbs south of the Ibar. I derive from this that the north is needed for the Cyprus model to maintain its credibility"

I think she meant yesterday that open partitin, with a newinternational border at the Ibar, would be against the interess of Kosova Serbs. Of course that is not the Cyprus model, because noone in the world recognises northern Cyprus as a separate intl entity. So what she presumably means is there was silent support for something like the Annan Plan for the reunification of Cyprus, based on a federated Cyprus consisting of two federated states, one Greek Cypriot and one Turkish Cypriot. And that kind of internal semi-partiton would be the best outcome for an independent federated Kosova - a K Serb state and a Albanian state. Without an international border in between, it would mean the smaller K Serb commnities in the south could still be part of the K Serb state within Kosova.

This is the only solution I believe. I hoe she's right that there is silent support for it internationally.

  4. To bmrusila,

"Serbia will never recognise south of the Ibar River because all symbols of Serbian statehood are in the South and everything that means to Serbia is in the South."

There is a fact, that you and many other people out there do not know the history of your Country. Even independent Historians have "found out", that Kosova is not Serbia!!!

I personally think, it's time to open your eyes and start living the present. Your politicians are making you blind, just to ensure they'll be the next 100 years in power.
Be sure, that, if Vojvodina is going to do the same like Kosova did, your Politicians will tell you, that Vojvodina is the 'cradle' of Serbia and so on.

  5. Rada Trajković sounds quite sensible to me. I never understood the sense of the actions against border posts in the South like Merdare.

She mentions the Cyprus model. This would mean that we have a frozen conflict and a generation later we will have new negotiations. There are two problems with this model:
    - it was based on the idea that everyone would recognize Kosovo and they have real independence. If that doesn't happen the model may come under stress.
    - it is unclear what the position of the Serbs south of the Ibar would be in this model.

Yesterday mrs. Trajković said that partition would endanger the Serbs south of the Ibar. I derive from this that the north is needed for the Cyprus model to maintain its credibility.

  6. 136,000 Serbs in Kosovo? Don't think that includes displaced Serbs. I suppose the internally displaced Serbs kept in squalid conditions can be forgotten. Living conditions, from what I have seen in the western media are disgusting for these people. If these reports are true, Serbs should be ashamed of themselves.
Hope this government falls, and the next one formed has more integrity, and not a taste for licking EU backside.

She knows what she is talking about. It is not lapses. It is true. She cannot include Yugoslav Army members serving in the occupied Kosovo; she cannot include thousands of police patrolling Kosovo’s streets ordered by Beograd; she cannot include lowers, persecutors, judges, teachers, Serbian government’ companies personnel who are ordered by Beograd to replace Kosovars counterparts. Those might be hundred thousands but they where not from Kosovo but ordered to work in Kosovo.
My friend Tim, ask your officials and they know better what is for internal use and what is for “election or for international community” use. They know better then what they want to say. It happen that someone is fed up with this INTERNAL USE policy and declare things as they are. Don’t be surprised because in next decade you will hear form your own officials with “low voice” what the truth is. We know it already because we have suffered enough to know. You will learn from “illegal” history documents.

  7. For bmrusila, Princip UK, smile and kate.
I have read your comment for weeks and here is the very interesting comment from one of the most competent Serbian official, Trajković, who know better then any Serb somewhere in UK, France or “Poland”. Her comment is about what had happened and what is happening now inside and outside of Kosovo and why is the danger move from government of Serbia to let “uncontrolled” to disturb the Independence of Kosova.

“If you keep allowing the military reservists to come, and they do not respect what Nebojša Čović was able to achieve with the abolishment of the zone, we will be in the position again that a land or air security zone will have to be implemented again, and NATO armed forces will be able to enter that zone again."

    1. I don’t know if we Albanians have right to complain about Serbian government. It was Serbian government that “accomplished” what Albanians couldn’t do in 96 years; liberate Kosovo by being the worst government in world, torturing, murdering, ethnic cleansing Kosovars. So this “accomplishment” forced NATO and western to free the people of Kosova.

"In that way we will endanger the sovereignty of the part of the territory which includes Preševo and Bujanovac, and at this moment, I really cannot understand why we are doing things without understanding their possible consequences. If that is the action plan and politicy, then I really have no idea where we are headed,” Trajković believes.

    2. In the eve of Independence of Kosova, again government of Serbia repeatedly claimed that by supporting Independence of Kosova, westerns want to take 15% of Serbia’s territories; in the same time they know that Kosova is just 8.1% of Serbia. What they wanting to say with 15%? The answer for that is in Trajkovic comment. According to her, if the government of Serbia will continue to repress the Albanians in Presevo and Bujanovac, Westerns have no other choice then just to agree with Serbia’s government to make 8.1% to 15% as the government “wanted”, and unifying Presevo and Bujanovac with Kosovo proper. And you think Kostunica is enemy of Albanians?!!!!! I

Speaking of the possibility of a partition of Kosovo, she said that until the recent unrest in Belgrade occurred, there was silent support from the international community for a partition of the province according to the Cyprus model.

  8. smile 'former allies of both mr. and mrs. milosevic, jul and sps if anyone remembers'

True enough but then so are almost all of the leaders in Kosovo today, former milosevic 'lickers of Milosevic backside' (as tim put it).

Her transformation does remind me a little of Biljana Plavsic though - another hardliner, who flipped.

Perhaps if they used their brains a little more and thought about their careers a little less...

  9. Serbia has been duped and lied to and it looks to continue by same members on the UN security council led by the U.S. and Britain. … They had no intentions of keeping their word or the signatures on the documents they signed. … They use the UN ,NATO and the EU as a extensions of their self serving political agenda. It is the same for the EU hows members are also in NATO. … A lot of the EU country's use the two organizations to settal old historical scores usually with country's not members and then hide behind the EU and NATO and pretend its not them also its vise versa. … They don't let sleeping dogs of war lie but have to stir them up and they have to make historical revisions to their favor always. … When will they learn. It has always only led to disastrous world wars with these alliances and self serving groupings am sure that is what we can all expect in the future.

  10. Those countries where a debt with Kosovo exists should only be stopped if they have recognised Kosovo as independent.

If on the other hand, a debt exists and the country's position is NOT to recognise, then payments should continue.

Otherwise this lady is speaking of selling Serbia. Any form of official partition will effectively recognise Kosovo. There should be no such discussion and to just accept the defacto partition that already exists. Those that are loyal to Serbia and those that are not!
    (ZK UK, 27 February 2008 12:44)
  11. rada and oliver are former allies of both mr. and mrs. milosevic, jul and sps if anyone remembers, and we will hear more of this no doubt:) they tend to cooperate with the highest bidder you see. i am asking our serbs abroad who are not acquainted with the details of politics here not to take them as representatives of anything much more than themselves, that is.
also, i see that washington has prohibited tadic to speak about kosovo and that propaganda is getting more concentrated. not so good. this only angers your average serbian joe and he votes radicals instead of dss, which would be much, much better.
oh, as for land safety zone... it was the achievement of local albanian terrorists, ucpmb if i got all the letters right ;) they started shooting at un and un begged mup to return.

What is she talking about? As I understand it, the zone was abolished by mutual agreement. Abolished means permanently removed. I will bet you my last euro neither Nato nor EU will dare to inflame tension further by invading the zone. A lot of bravado talk from the West no doubt but everyone with brains know that they are actually more desperate than anyone else for peace and tranquility following the UDI.
    (lowe, 27 February 2008 12:06)
  13. And what she wanted to say in the end? NATO won’t dare now to abolish anything the Nebojsa Covic achieved. If NATO tries to do it then they risk increasing already huge tension in the region that might induce the violence. I think NATO will think twice before making any decision of this kind.

I don’t know where she was heading when saying that Serbia should not be a hostage of Serbs in Kosovo? Serbia is not a hostage of 136,000 Serbs in Kosovo but the home and shelter to all of them, including you Mrs Trajkovic. Belgrade is the only place that K-Serbs should trust. Do you suggest that they should turn their heads in direction of Pristina?

When it comes to partition, de facto partition exists for already 9 years and that is how it will stay. The official partition won’t happen and should not happen. Serbia will never recognise south of the Ibar River because all symbols of Serbian statehood are in the South and everything that means to Serbia is in the South. I agree with you and Mr Dinkic that Serbia should stop paying the Kosovo debts and that money should be re-direct to Serbs and the parts of Kosovo inhabited by the Serbs.
