Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev on Friday said he believes the US Congress will at some point suspend its immense support of Kyiv as "America has always abandoned its friends."
"The sentiment among ordinary Americans will start to steadily turn toward reality," he said on Telegram. "That effect will be building up until the Congress suspends the unreserved support of the nationalist regime in Ukraine."
"America has always abandoned its friends," Medvedev went on to say. "This is what will happen this time as well, sooner or later."
According to Medvedev, Congressmen are demanding sweeping checks on where the huge funds have gone.
"The subject of money for Ukraine is becoming toxic in the US. Congressmen demand checks on where the new tens of billions, which have been requested by President Joe Biden, has ended up. It was inevitable, these are the laws of politics. The Republicans, having become stronger after the elections, are making problems for the Democrats. The Democrats are fighting back. There is no need for illusions: Big money for the militarization of the Ukrainian regime will continue to be allocated. That’s part of the Russophobic consensus in the American political elites," Medvedev said.
Medvedev said that Kyiv, realizing that the flow of aid may soon dry up, "have lost the remnants of reality" and "frenziedly is demanding more and more sanctions on Russia" and more and more Western money for war.
Earlier, Republican congressmen sent a letter to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken requesting information about possible financial ties between the Democratic Party and the government of Ukraine through the bankrupt crypto exchange FTX.
The US has given a lot of money and equipment and isn't just going to abandon its investment at the drop of a hat. This smacks of the same Soviet propaganda that claimed that the US was going to collapse during the Cold War and we all know who actually did collapse.

A lot of wishful thinking.
If congress is demanding to see where all that money went and we all know where, then support will stop.
They are already demanding to probe into Hunter and his daddy so imagine when Ukraine bombshell comes out too.
US has historically abandoned it's "frieds". We all know there is no such ting as a friend when it comes to the US. It's useful idiots and servants, that's all.
Tell us, who haven't the US abandoned yet. Look at the speed they pulled out of Afghanistan. Not only did they abandon their "friends" but they left all that lovely equipment to the enemy to take revenge on their friends too.

Where do you get this US collapsing during the cold war? Is this your own personal version of history of events? I follow these things closely and never once have I heard or read that the US was going to collapse during cold war. The US level of debt during this time was always manageable and relatively small except for certain periods but it was never in danger of collapsing.
Today its very different. It has a massive debt of $31 trillion plus the US dollar as a reserve currency is coming to an end and yes the US is in great danger of collapsing.

Peter there's a time for an empire to flourish, there's a time when empires crumble under their own weight. See Roman, Byzantium, Ottoman empires. Im just mentioning those empires the Balkans were part of but you can obviously study other empires. And it is true for the USSR which was in fact an empire. Soviets propaganda was right, the West irreversible decline was in the making back then and is of course getting worse. Strong states who know how to reinvent themselves will survive but empires will go down the drain.

Where is Peter the Polack again? Do you really think Congress is going to continue to finance Ukraine. Not a chance.

With a shrinking economy and more more money being spent on Ukraine, its only a matter if time before the US abandons other “friends.”
