A turning point in American-Russian relations?
"I think the situation will be clarified soon. It is not a personal meeting at the moment, but that does not diminish the importance of their talks. Given all the circumstances and issues that exist in bilateral relations and on the international scene, it seems to me that their contact will be a turning point", said Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister.He emphasized that for now, it is not clear when and in what format they will meet.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs also announced that a meeting was being prepared between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary General Antony Blinken on the sidelines of the meeting of OSCE foreign ministers in Stockholm.
Ryabkov also referred to the announced new expulsion of Russian diplomats from Washington. He emphasized that Moscow would certainly respond to that and added that the American side must stop this practice.
