It would be easy to prove the validity of the message sent from the US Embassy in Pristina. POLITICO could simply publish a notarized copy of the communique for all to see. However, we all know that will never happen since no such communique exists.

Where did this information originate from. If someone other than a US official has provided said information, how can it be trusted to be fact. It has been my experience that without a legitimate source, the so-called information is no more trust worthy than that of the many trolls posting on b92.

Sandy, it clearly states that this was a cable communication sent by the Ambassador of KiM to the US State department. Furthermore, the USSD responded to the cable regarding the distribution of the vaccine, so this verifies they received the communication. Now, whether or not the rest of the information is true, I guess we'll just have to wait to find out. However, my guess is that the additional derogatory information mentioned was indeed stated in the communication

It’s about a report from the US Embassy to the State Department on the working and living conditions of its staff in Pristina. The main thrust is a lack of qualified employees and work load on existing staff while the other matters relate to a lack of outdoor activity due to stray dogs, air pollution, lack of green spaces and overall bad infrastructure.
This is written by a US official not a Serb mate. “Approximately 20 percent of embassy employees have contracted COVID-19; the vast majority are [Locally Employed] Staff, which is an indication of ineffective disease control in Kosovo”. I have no idea where your brother works but he must be thick as a brick not to notice that Covid testing is near no existent.
The author goes on “Kosovo behaves like a country free from COVID-19. But Kosovo is a country ravaged by the pandemic.”
In Moscow, US diplomats are seeking Russian vaccine because nothing is coming from the US. The State Department said they don’t recommend Sputnik V, but they will not object if individual staff decide to take it.
If the US does not have enough vaccines for their diplomats, I’d start to take those numbers vaccinated in the US with a grain of salt.

My brother works for Kfor in Pristina, his coworkers, native to Kosovo, have never given any indication that conditions are as bad as is being reported by POLITICO. It appears this is simply fake news coming from an organization thriving on the old Balkan condition of inat. When I was in Belgrade recently, the poor conditions described above could also apply there. The people of the Balkans are suffering due to the pandemic, Serbia is not an exception.

It looks like Kosnett thought that he was going there to vacation or something. There is plenty of green spaces in Kosova since Kosova is known for its beautiful mountains and nature but you will have to leave the city to experience that. Also, there are green spaces right outside the city that locals go to. This pandemic situation has caused discomfort to everyone including us in the US (where Kosnett is from) but we are not putting the blame on the infrastructure just because we are bored and feel like complaining about things. Cry me a damn river that you are bored while living in a 200 million dollar embassy that our hard earned dollars built for you and others that will be stationed there. 🙄
