"The Russians have always been here and this is a strategic interest that their ambassadors have very openly communicated and continue to communicating," Perovic said at a panel organized on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Informbiro Resolution, held at the Lazar Vrkatic Faculty in Novi Sad.
According to her, 1948 has been reduced only to repression that took place on Goli Otok, while the emancipatory process that occurred ten and was opened in the long run is not being talked about.
Historian Milivoj Beslin said that the Balkan nations, thanks to the "historical No" of 1948, were for the first time not only objects, but subjects in world politics.
He assessed that in Serbia this is kept silent about because of today's role of Russia, which is nothing new. "For three centuries we have been able to monitor the imperial territorial intentions of Russia towards the Balkans and this has not changed even today," Beslin said.
He added that with the breakup with Stalin in 1948, the then Soviet hegemony was blocked in the socialist block of states.
"To all who view 1948 only through Goli Otok, I recommend to read the documents about hundreds of fallen Yugoslav soldiers in the undeclared war of the USSR war against Yugoslavia in 1948," Beslin said.
Stalin and the leadership of the USSR accused the Communist Party of Yugoslavia on June 28, 1948 of conducting improper internal and foreign policy, that is, a departure from Marxism and Leninism.
The leadership of Yugoslavia rejected these accusations, which is also known as "the historical No."
After years of campaigning against Yugoslavia, Informbiro's policy was defeated in the 50s of the 20th century.
Plus these communists had plans to give Kosovo (Kosmet) to Albania. That is what they even said to Stalin and there were transcripts of this published in a Serbian newspaper a few years ago.

First off, Stalin wasn't an ethnic Russian. He was a Georgian. And as for "when for decades it allowed Yugoslavia to train and finance dozens of anticommunist albanians and diversants who came to Albania"
Well yes, but those communists also allowed a huge number of these Albanians from Albania to settle in Kosovo, while they forbid Kosovo Serbs, who'd been ethnically cleansed by the Albanians and the Germans, to return to their properties.
So it was the communists who severely damaged the Kosovo Serb population and aided the ethnic Albanian population.

Tito wasn't a Serb, but a Slovene-Croat, and the next most powerful were 2 Slovenes, Eduard Kardelj and Stane Dolanc - and they wanted to give Kosovo to Albania.
They were anti-Serb and worked to weaken Serbia, and to enrich Slovenia - including moving many industries and businesses originating in Serbia to Slovenia, brick-by-brick.

Skenderbeu 1444 Your comment of Yugoslavia started to become a prison for it's ethnic minorities, then in your next comment you say So it is a shame to blame Stalin who was georgian!!! Well TITO was a Croat not a Serb! Many Serbs were also imprisoned at the time of TITO's rule!!! I see that your heritage is Albanian and yes they would of suffered under this rule but Serbs were not immune to this either!!! Many Serbs in Croatia did not even reach any prisons at that time! But that you do not talk about????

Very poorly written article ...Even 5 years old could figure it out...anti- Russian hysteria...Soviet union and modern Russia are completely different states in every possible way....You can’t blame Russia today for Soviet Union doing in the past....It is wrong in so many ways

Also what kind of marxist-leninist Party was the Communist Party of Yugoslavia when for decades it allowed Yugoslavia to train and finance dozens of anticommunist albanians and diversants who came to Albania with arms to overthrow our communist leadership? Is that a thing to be done against another brotherly communist Party who sent it's best partizans and divizions to help Yugoslavs liberate Bosnia and Yugoslavia? So it is a shame to blame Stalin who was georgian by the way for Yugoslavia's unjust acts against it's own citizens and also against it's neighbors.

Serbia is silent not because of Russia. Serbia is silent because of Tito's cult of individ still alive in serbs' hearts. Enver Hoxha and Stalin were the first supreme leaders to see through the curse of shovinistic and racist tendencies of yugoslavs and Yugoslavia was condemned for these tendencies from Inform Byro and was kicked out of Communist Internacionale. Yugoslavs couldnt fool Stalin but it is a fact that Yugoslavia started to become a prison for it's ethnic minorities. You were the first to spit on the brotherhood fairy tale. So these Serb analists should analize themselves instead of blaming Stalin or Russia.
