Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama on Tuesday arrived in Trieste, Italy, for the Western Balkans Summit, held within the Berlin Process.

A little over a month ago, Rama also wore sneakers during an informal EU-organized meeting in BrusselsSerbia's delegation at the Trieste summit is headed by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic. The gathering will bring together the region's premiers and ministers of foreign affairs, economy and transportation, and the highest-ranking representatives of the Berlin Process member-states: Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Great Britain, Croatia and Slovenia, as well as EU senior officials.
Beta reported earlier, citing a Serbian MFA statement, that the main topics are closer links in the Western Balkans as a key element to accelerate the region's EU integration, stronger economic ties especially between small and medium-sized enterprises, IT and research sectors, stronger cooperation between young people, the rule of law, combating corruption and terrorism, extremism and radicalism, and migration-related issues.
The summit will also produce "an action plan for a new economic area in the Western Balkans, which the European Commission pledged to support with EUR 7 million, in order to get the project off the ground."
