BELGRADE After several weeks of unseasonably hot and dry weather, cooler temperatures and rain were reported in many parts of Serbia on Tuesday. The long-term forecast, however, predicts several heat waves during the upcoming summer and fall. Forecasters predict hot summer and fall in Serbia June, July and August are expected to have above average maximum temperatures, with highs in Belgrade in June averaging 27.3 degrees centigrade. At the same time, rainfall is expected to be "within the limits of several years' average." July will be drier and hotter, with several heat waves predicted, and average highs in Belgrade rising to 29.4 degrees. This figure will reach 30.2 degrees in August, another month that will bring heat waves, according to meteorologists. September will be "somewhat drier and hotter" than usual, but rainfall is expected to be within average limits. Belgrade will have average maximum highs of 34.7 degrees.
