Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac on Tuesday stated that the degree of safety of the country's top-ranking officials has been high for some time. But he could not confirm allegations by controversial Montenegrin businessman Ratko Knezevic that the so-called Tobacco Mafia is threatening Serbian President Boris Tadic. Sutanovac on security of state officials “I suppose that all of our lives are threatened in some way, but I cannot confirm that his life is threatened in the way described in Blic,” said Sutanovac. “The degree of safety has been on a rather high level for some time now, and it has not been raised further,” said Sutanovac, clarifying that beside the Serbian Army, which provides direct security to Tadic, the police (MUP), intelligence agency BIA and other service are also in charge of his safety.
