He repeated Serbia’s readiness to grant Kosovo “any form of autonomy,” but that giving up a part of its territory was unacceptable.

Jeremić also invited Priština to new talks on the future status of Kosovo.

“We want to talk and we are ready for an agreement. We are willing to examine all options since we believe that any compromise is better than an enforced decision,” Jeremić said.

Bakoyanni pointed out that Greece was against a unilateral solution for Kosovo that would destabilize the region, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Bakoyanni underscored that a chance should be given to negotiations to reach a solution that would be acceptable to both Belgrade and Priština.

Earlier Tuesday, Jeremić held talks with Papoulias, while he is expected to meet with Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis and with Ministers of Defense and Development, Vangelis Meimarakis and Dimitris Sioufas, respectively.
