B92 has learned unofficially on Friday that the entire management of the Belgrade-based Partizan FC has resigned after a shocking defeat to Augsburg.

Entire management of Partizan FC resigns - unofficial

According to information available to B92 from sources close to the club, the decision of the management came after Partizan supporters last night demanded their resignations.

Until Augsburg's third goal in the 88th minute, Partizan still had the result that would have seen it progress to the next stage. But the 3-1 outcome meant that both teams had collected 9 points each, with Augsburg going through on goal difference.

After the final whistle, most of the home side's players left the pitch with tears in their eyes, while fans shouted insults at them.

Coach Ljubinko Drulovic did not address reporters after the game, and went to a meeting with Sports Director Ivica Iliev instead. This meeting did not discuss Drulovic's job - but "what to do to pick the team up."

Partizan's Europa League exit last night aggravated a bad season for the club that is currently at number four in the national league table - as many as 24 points behind the leader and city rival Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) FC.
