DSS: Law on Language violated in south Serbia

According to a party statement, the brochure, which was supposed to be printed in Serbian and Albanian, violates laws which regulate language and writing rules in Serbia.

The DSS said that this violation “takes away the rights of citizens of Serb ethnicity for equality in their own country, and violates one of the basic human rights, the right to language.”

The party is asking those responsible to be found and prosecuted appropriately.

Municipal President Slobodan Drašković said that the published map will be fixed and republished.

“When the promotion of the strategic plan for community security was promoted I was the first to see the mistake and I spoke about it publicly right away. HAd I failed to do that, no one would have noticed. The mistake will be corrected and I do not think that such a strong reaction was necessary,” Drašković said.

The Preševo Valley and the municipalities of Preševo, Bujanovac and Medeveđa have the largest Albanian community in the country, outside of Kosovo.
