According to reports from Banja Luka today, RS PM Milorad Dodik said Bosnia-Herzegovina was increasingly showing its inability to survive. Dodik heads the government of the Serb republic (RS). The post-war Bosnia is made up of this Serb entity, and the Muslim-Croat Federation. Bosnia "increasingly can't survive" Dodik accused international representatives in Bosnia for the state of Bosnia's affairs. He said that Bosnia-Herzegovina can only function if it abides by the original Dayton Peace Accords, and agreements reached by the signatories of the peace deal that ended the 1992-95 war. "If we leave Bosnia-Herzegovina, we'll take RS with us," Dodik warned. The prime minister repeated that he would not take part in, or accept constitutional reforms on the state level, "that would be molded by foreigners", and that he found only those changes related to the Sejdic-Finci discrimination case acceptable. Dodik said that his recent visit to Israel, where he met with the country's top officials, was one of the most important trips he has had lately, in view of the fact that Jerusalem conducted a "balanced policy in the complex conditions of the Middle East relations". These relations, the RS premier continued, have been made significantly more complex with Turkey "changing certain arrangements, leading to tensions in the U.S.-Turkey relations, which as a rule creates problems between Israel and Turkey". "All this places Israel in front of new challenges to conceptualize its new policy in the region," Dodik was quoted as saying. He also noted that Bosnia-Herzegovina on several occasions voted in favor of UN Security Council resolution that "put Israel in a complex position", and that this came as a result of activities by Muslim and Croat members of the Bosnian presidency Haris Sijaldzic and Zeljko Komsic, and FM Sven Alkalaj. Dodik once again accused Turkey of meddling in Bosnian affairs, and to support only the Muslim (Bosniak) side. Milorad Dodik (FoNet, file)
