BRUSSELS Serbian and Kosovo PMs Ivica Dacic and Hashim Thaci should interpret the customs agreement to their citizens, says EU High Representative Catherine Ashton. “We do not want to go into that debate,” Ashton’s Spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic told Tanjug when asked about different interpretations of the agreement on customs duty collection at the Jarinje and Brnjak crossings. EU’s Ashton urges PMs to interpret deal to citizens Belgrade claims that it was agreed that revenues from customs duty and other taxes collected at the administrative crossings would go into a special fund for the development of northern Kosovo, while Pristina says that all the money will first have to go through Kosovo’s budget. “We are only here to help implement what has been agreed and it is up to the prime ministers to explain to their citizens what they agreed,” Kocijancic said. She also condemned barricades that northern Kosovo Serbs set up this morning on roads leading to the administrative crossings in order to prevent the Kosovo customs and police officers from going through. “Convoys should go and agreements should be implemented,” Kocijancic told Tanjug.
