EU concerned about violence in Kosovo

The European Union (EU) is very concerned about Friday morning's violence in northern Kosovo and calls for restraint of all parties. This was heard from Maja Kocijancic, spokesperson of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, said. EU concerned about violence in Kosovo "The violence erupted during a KFOR's operation of barricade removal," Kocijancic told a press conference at the EU headquarters, and stressed that Brussels carefully monitors the developments in Kosovo. She noted that the European Commission, which is in contact with all the parties, urges restraint. Kocijancic also pointed out that the operation was carried out by KFOR, not EULEX, but that the EU stands firmly behind the principle of free movement.
