NGOs call for pressure on Serbia

The letter, signed by Humanitarian Law Fund, Youth Initiative for Human Rights, Women in Black and the Civic Initiative, stressed that Brussels “must not give in to the temptation to trade with basic principles while negotiating Kosovo’s final status.”

“That would only lead to the strengthening of extreme nationalism, an end to reform forces distancing from the Milošević heritage, and block the development of a democratic Serbia deserving of a place in the European family of nations,” the letter said.
