The Serbian government its session on Thursday voted to sack the director of the state-owned power company EPS and appoint a new one.

BELGRADE The Serbian government its session on Thursday voted to sack the director of the state-owned power company EPS and appoint a new one. Obradovic was a former head of Serbia office of the Czech company CEZ, during which time he was "very interested in a strategic partnership and investment in EPS". In one of his interviews from that period, Obradovic said that Serbia made no investments in production facilities for 20 years and that for this reason there was "negative balance - because it spent more than it produced". "EPS found itself in a vicious circle, it must buy electricity, which it then sells cheap," he said at the time. The government was also to discuss the shutting down or merging some state agencies and funds, in order to save money from the state budget. B92
