The Democratic Party (DS) elected its new leadership at the Election Convention on Saturday. According to the DS, a total of 2,701 delegates voted in the party elections. DS gets new leadership Boris Tadic has been elected president with a four-year mandate for the third time in the row. 2,543 delegates voted for him. Dragoljub Micunovic got 2,485 votes and was elected president of the DS Political Council. Both he and Tadic were the only candidates for the two positions. The DS also adopted the amendments to the party's statute. Numerous guests attended the convention. However, the public was most interested in the elections for DS deputy presidents. Both analysts and candidates themselves believed that they were the most uncertain. Vuk Jeremic was not elected, while new DS deputy leaders are Dragan Djilas, Dusan Petrovic, Bojan Pajtic, Dragan Sutanovac and Jelena Trivan.
