Gas pipeline through Serbia agreed on
He said that the Government agreed to the signing of the document and that the construction of the pipeline from Bulgaria towards Niš will be a great Greenfield investment for Croatia and North Italy, which will give Serbia alternate routes for receiving fuel.Bubalo said that the construction of the pipeline is very important for Serbia, because it will have regular supplies of gas available for citizens and industrial companies, as well as income from the transit.
The Serbian Government supported the construction of a regional pipeline through Serbia in July of this year when it was stated that the value of the pipeline would be about one billion dollars.
Gas will be moved from Turkey, through Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia to North Italy, and the announced capacity of gas distribution is about 20 billion cubic meters a year.
According to the figures of the Serbian Government at that time, this would bring 200 million dollars of income to Serbia on a yearly basis, which would be shared with its Russian partners.
