MOSCOW The Boeing 737 that crashed in Kazan killing all 50 people on board most likely went down due to pilot error and technical failure of the 23-year-old aircraft. The tragedy happened late on Sunday in Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan. Monday is a day of mourning across Russia. The search continues for the plane's black boxes. The son of the president of the province of Tatarstan and the regional head of the FSB intelligence service were among those who had died, as well as one British and one Ukrainian citizen. Other victims of the plane crash are believed to have been Russians. The plane, which took off from Moscow's Domodedovo airport, exploded on second landing attempt. The aircraft belonged to Tatarstan's regional airline. President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the families and friends of those who died and ordered the government to form a committee for an immediate investigation into the plane crash.
