U.S. President Barack Obama has signed a bill to raise the U.S. debt ceiling, averting the first possible bankruptcy of the U.S. government. The House of Representatives adopted the bill on Monday and the decision became final after the Senate passed the bill on Tuesday. U.S. president signs debt ceiling bill International Monetary Fund (IMF) Director Christine Lagarde has stated that adoption of the bill allowing debt ceiling increase “is good news for both U.S. and world economy”.
