Pakistani police say a suicide bomber has killed at least 10 people and wounded more than 20 others in northwest Pakistan. Police and witnesses said at least two women and two children were among the dead. The bomber attacked as the convoy passed through a gas station. Shi'ite Muslims, a minority in Sunni-majority Pakistan, have been targeted by the Pakistani Taliban. There is also sectarian violence between the two groups. Pakistan has launched a military offensive against the Islamist militants in northwest Pakistan, succeeding in destroying militant bases. Thursday, media outlets reported Pakistan had arrested senior Taliban leader Agha Jan Mohtasim, the Taliban's former finance minister, in Karachi. Government officials did not comment on the reports. Last month, Pakistani forces captured top Taliban commander Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar. Elsewhere in Pakistan, police say they are optimistic they will soon have a lead on where to find a young British boy who was kidnapped this week. Police were questioning at least one suspect Friday. Britain's Foreign Office said Thursday a man was arrested in connection with the kidnapping. Five-year-old Sahil Saeed was taken at gunpoint from his grandmother's house in Jhelum city on Wednesday. His father, who is Pakistani, said the kidnappers first stole money and jewelry and demanded a $150,000 ransom for the boy. From England, the boy's mother appealed on television for her son's release, saying all she wanted was her son "back safe."
