American federal government officials are looking for the eighth suspect in the group that was planning terrorist attacks abroad, in Kosovo among other places. Raleigh prosecutor’s stated that the eight members of the group is an American citizen. The other seven suspects were arrested in North Carolina on Monday. U.S. police search for eighth suspect in terror case According to the indictment, the eighth suspect is also a North Carolina resident, and traveled to Pakistan in October 2008 in order to “participate in violent jihad”. One of the arrested, Daniel Patrick Boyd (39), is a Muslim convert who police believe was the leader of the group. He had experience and training in Afghanistan and Pakistan in between 1989 and 1992, which he used in forming his own organization that trained fighters and gathered money and performed terrorist attacks outside of the U.S. His two sons Dylan, 22, and Zakariya, 20, are also suspects, along with Hysen Sherifi, 24, Anes Subasic, 33, Mohammad Omar Aly Hassan, 22, and Ziyad Yaghi, 21. Yaghi and Subasic have U.S. passports, but it was not stated where they are from originally. Sherifi is an ethnic Albanian from Kosovo who had residence in the United States. The seven, who could face life in prison if found guilty, are accused of traveling to Gaza, Israel, Jordan, Pakistan and Kosovo in order to plan or contract people for attacks.
