Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday power prices would not go up in the next 6 months, and that there would be no power cuts this winter.

"There will be no increase in power prices, at least in the next 6 months, until the end of the winter season, and there will be enough power, although it would make things easier for us if power were saved," he noted.

"We appeal to people to save if they can, and if they cannot, we will have to import larger quantities of electricity," Vucic remarked.

''There will be enough gas because the government bought some earlier, even though many objected to it, so there is some 450 million cubic metres available'', he stressed, adding that the government was considering the option to secure another 250 million cubic metres from storage facilities in Hungary in order to have enough for the entire industry.

''The biggest issue in this araea is still the irresposible behaviour of local governmnents, heat plants and those who collect the bills'', the Prime Minister stated.
