The Police Union of Serbia organized a protest this Tuesday at noon in front of the government building in Belgrade. The protest organizers said the rally would be attended by union members who were not on duty today, while those on duty will work uninterrupted, but wearing badges in support of their colleagues. He told reporters today that the government will on Wednesday announce its decision on the signing and implementation of the agreement. Mijailovic also said the protest would "radicalize" and turn into a strike unless the government accepted the union's demands. Earlier today, he noted that the date - October 5, marking ten years since the fall of the Milosevic regime - had no special symbolic significance, and was chosen randomly. "Then again, why not," said Mijailovic. "Let's see what happened ten years later." A file photo of Serbian MUP officers (Tanjug)
