Belgrade today marks 69 years since the Nazi German air force attacked the city. Representatives of the city, the Labor Ministry, the Union of War Veterans of the National Liberation War of Yugoslavia (SUBNOR) and citizen associations today gathered at the monument honoring the victims of the bombing. Anniversary of 1941 Nazi bombing Speaker of the Belgrade City Assembly Aleksandar Antic said that several thousand citizens perished during the attack on April 6, 1941, and that great material damage was done to the capital. “It is an obligation of all of us to guard the memory of all those people. Belgrade and Belgraders must never forget,” Antic said. The victims are remembered today (Tanjug)
