Germany's RTL will acquire a 49 percent stake of Belgrade's Avala TV, officials have confirmed.

Germany's RTL will acquire a 49 percent stake of Belgrade's Avala TV, officials have confirmed. Slobodan Djoric of the Council of the Republic Broadcasting Agency said that a session was held to discuss the issue. Germans to buy stake in Belgrade TV "We have a conditional decision, and they will have to provide us with some additional information so that RTL could take over 49 percent of Avala," he said. The Belgrade television station has a national broadcasting permit in Serbia, something RTL previously failed to obtain on its own when it took part in a competition. At this point, Avala TV's majority owner, according the Serbian Business Registers Agency data, is Danko Djunic with 45.65 percent, while the smallest share of 5.95 percent is held by Pink TV owner Zeljko Mitrovic.

The Belgrade television station has a national broadcasting permit in Serbia, something RTL previously failed to obtain on its own when it took part in a competition.

At this point, Avala TV's majority owner, according the Serbian Business Registers Agency data, is Danko Đunić with 45.65 percent, while the smallest share of 5.95 percent is held by Pink TV owner Željko Mitrović.
