Csatary was a police officer in the Slovak town of Kosice which was under Hungary's control at the time of the deportation of Jews to Auschwitz. Media reported on July 16 that the currently most wanted Nazi criminal was located. He is suspected of deporting more than 15,000 Jews. Csatary was hiding in Canada for years and he has been living in Hungary for the last 15 years. The Sun reported last Sunday that Csatary was found in Budapest. The suspect opened the door to The Sun reporters but told them that he did not want to discuss the allegations and that he was not responsible for the crimes. According to the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Csataray played a “key role” in the deportation of 300 Jews to Ukraine where they were killed in the summer of 1941. He is also suspected of helping deport around 15,700 Jews to Auschwitz in 1944. Csatary is on the top of the list of the most wanted war crimes of the International Jewish Organization for Human Rights. Most wanted Nazi criminal arrested in Hungary

The suspect, who was identified as Laszlo Csatary by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, was arrested on Wednesday, Hungarian prosecutors have stated.

Csatary was a police officer in the Slovak town of Košice which was under Hungary's control at the time of the deportation of Jews to Auschwitz.

Media reported on July 16 that the currently most wanted Nazi criminal was located. He is suspected of deporting more than 15,000 Jews.
