Proceedings halted over elections in Federation

The Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina (FBiH) decided to stop the proceedings regarding the presidential elections in the entity. The post-war Bosnia-Herzegovina is made up of this Muslim-Croat entity, and the Serb republic (RS). Proceedings halted over elections in Federation The case was originally filed by former FBiH President Borjana Kristo, who withdrew it afterwards, which is why the court decided to end the proceedings. Kristo withdrew her case Tuesday, because she feels it has become meaningless after High Representative Valentin Inzko's choice to suspend last week's decisions by the Bosnian Central Election Commission. The commission decided that the upper house of the FBiH parliament was not formed in accordance with the law and abolished the election of the president and two vice presidents of the entity. Kristo thinks Inzko's decision undermines the rule of law in Bosnia and says she "does not want to be a part of that".
