HDZ leader indicted for misuse of position

Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) in Bosnia-Herzegovina leader Dragan Covic was indicted under the suspicion of misusing his position as party leader. The Mostar canton prosecution indicted Covic and several other people for a misuse of position regarding the privatization of mobile telephone operator Eronet, Chief Prosecutor Nijaz Mehmedbasic confirmed. HDZ leader indicted for misuse of position Media in the federation stated that the prosecution could confirm the indictment next week. Along with Covic, the indictment includes former Eronet CEO Marinko Gilja, former board of directors official Matan Zaric, and former Bosnia-Herzegovina Federation president Vladimir Soljic. Covic was the president of the Croatian Postal and Telecommunications company (HPT) at the time Eronet was being privatized in 1999. The indictment accuses the officials of illegally transferring shares of Eronet from HPT to the Kroherc, Aplina Komerc and Herzegovina Insurance companies.
