As in the previous years, Montenegro saw two separate Christmas Eve celebrations.

As in the previous years, Montenegro saw two separate Christmas Eve celebrations. In the town of Cetinje, the burning of the oak log (badnjak) was done in two locations, by the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) clergy and worshipers, and by those of the canonically unrecognized Montenegrin Orthodox Church (CPC). Two Christmas celebrations in Montenegro SPC Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Coast Amfilohije said during the ceremonies that reconciliation should take place everywhere, "especially in Montenegro and the town of Cetinje". Head of the CPC Mihailo meanwhile noted that "there is no Montenegrin Church without the future of Montenegro, and no Montenegro without Cetinje".
