Former deputy commander of a special unit of the Bosnia-Herzegovina army has been arrested under suspicion that he committed war crimes during the war.

Former deputy commander of a special unit of the Bosnia-Herzegovina army has been arrested under suspicion that he committed war crimes during the war. Nihad Bojadzic, 47, deputy commander of a unit dubbed "Zulfikar", was arrested in Sarajevo, and is suspected of murdering over 20 people in Trusina, near Konjic, during 1993, the Bosnian prosecution stated. Bojadzic's unit, along with the Bosnian army’s 45th Hill Brigade Neretvica attacked the village of Trusina on April 16, 1993. Four other members of the Zulfikar unit and Neretvica brigade have been arrested this year under the suspicion of having committing war crimes in the village. Bosnian Muslims (Bosniaks) Nedzad Hodzic, Mensur Memic, Dzevad Salcin and Senad Hakalovic are currently in custody for crimes related to the attack.

Bojadžić's unit, along with the Bosnian army’s 45th Hill Brigade Neretvica attacked the village of Trusina on April 16, 1993.

Four other members of the Zulfikar unit and Neretvica brigade have been arrested this year under the suspicion of having committing war crimes in the village.

Bosnian Muslims (Bosniaks) Nedžad Hodžić, Mensur Memić, Dževad Salcin and Senad Hakalović are currently in custody for crimes related to the attack.
