Seven Turkish nationals, including one child, have died in an accident in south Bulgaria, when the minibus they were traveling in collided with a Serbian bus. The accident occurred at 06:15 local time on the E-80 road, near to the village of Svilengrad on the Bulgarian-Turkish border, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry announced. It is reported that none of the Serbian nationals were seriously injured, while the driver has received first aid and will soon be discharged from hospital. All the victims had been traveling in the minibus. A Bulgarian police spokeswoman said that the Turkish passengers had been travelling from Germany to Turkey on vacation, and that all the indications were that the crash had been caused by the driver of the Turkish minibus as he was trying to overtake the Serbian bus. A spokesman for Argusturs told B92 that the Serbian bus had been carrying 61 passengers, and that only the driver had been injured, in the legs and arms. "None of our passengers were injured. The driver has a dislocated arm and hand injuries. He was taken to the hospital in Svilengrad, where the injuries were treated, and he feels fine now," said the spokesman. He said that all the passengers on the Argusturs bus had been transferred to the May 1 resort near Plovdiv, where they were awaiting a new bus to take them to Belgrade. All the victims had been traveling in the minibus.

A Bulgarian police spokeswoman said that the Turkish passengers had been travelling from Germany to Turkey on vacation, and that all the indications were that the crash had been caused by the driver of the Turkish minibus as he was trying to overtake the Serbian bus.
