Today, the German Chancellor Scholz will also receive the Prime Minister of the Interim Institutions of Pristina, Albin Kurti, while he also invited the EU Envoy for Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajčák, to those meetings. Scholz's cabinet announced that the talks are aimed at supporting the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, so after separate talks between the German chancellor and Vučić and Kurti, Miroslav Lajčák will also talk to them.

As the German ambassador to Pristina, Jörn Rohde, stated on his Twitter account that "both meetings will focus on coordinating further reactions to Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, political and economic relations and regional cooperation. The meetings will also serve to support the EU-led Kosovo-Serbia dialogue".

According to Rohde, the meetings will also serve to support the EU-led Kosovo-Serbia dialogue", he said, adding "in support of the EU facilitated dialogue Chancellor Scholz has invited Miroslav Lajčák, who will host a joint meeting with Prime Minister Kurti and President Vucic in the evening in Berlin".

If that meeting takes place, it would be the first meeting between Vučić and Kurti since July 19, 2021, when they met within the dialogue in Brussels. Yesterday, the President of Serbia said that he did not expect an easy conversation with Scholz and that he fears the discussion.

"That means that I will, if nothing else, perform in a very responsible way. I certainly do not expect an easy conversation," said Vucic. He said a few days ago that he did not have high expectations, that he would listen to remarks on Serbia's behavior and have the opportunity to express the position of our country.

"It is a good opportunity that we will have a chance to express our views, but we will not change Germany's position on Kosovo and Metohija, nor on sanctions," Vucic stated at the time.

Domestic and foreign analysts agree that the talks in Berlin are an attempt by Germany to unblock the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and become more actively involved in resolving the Kosovo issue, but that the outcome is uncertain.
