"Governments come and go, but Dacic remains"

Dacic, who is on a two-day visit to Austria, said that he would on Saturday participate at the Europa Forum Wachau, whose topic this year is ‟Europe-closer to its citizens”.

He said that this event will gather many distinguished guests, and one of them will be European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, as well as many guests from the world of politics.

"On this occasion I will once again point to the policy of Serbia, which is the policy of regional peace and stability, EU integration and reforms that should lead our country to becoming an EU member as soon as possible," Dacic stated, according to the government.

Reporting from Vienna on Friday, the daily Blic said that Kurz thanked Dacic for good cooperation, and stressed that he hoped it would continue in the future.

"Because, governments in Serbia go away, while Ivica Dacic remains. He's been there for 27 years now," Kurz said, according to Blic.

"Thanks, Sebastian - but it hasn't been quite 27 years," Dacic replied.

Asked whether he would become Serbia's prime minister, he said he "did not know."

"(Aleksandar) Vucic must be asked about that. I'm not the one who determines that position. I'm not thinking about it at all, I have the job of foreign minister, that is, of acting prime minister - whereas how those conversations will go - there shouldn't be any at all, Vucic should decide whom to make PM-designate. That position has not been my personal request. I've already served as prime minister, " Dacic said.
