"Anti-election theft police teams" to be set up - minister

Speaking in front of SNS premises in Lapovo, he added that these officers "perhaps won't even look like policemen" to prospective election thieves - "but when they get handcuffed, they'll look like policemen, and then some."

Addressing citizens in downtown Kragujevac, he announced the Interior Ministry (MUP) would "continue to work intensively in the coming period on suppressing all forms of crime."

"We want people to feel safe and secure, not to fear that their bicycle will get stolen, let alone their car, but at the same time those who used to hold public office must not think they should feel safe because their mandate expired, if they had violated the law," Stefanovic said, according to a Beta agency report.
