Vucic: EU must do something about refugee crisis

If the EU requests us not to receive economic migrants, we will do so, Vucic, who is in Davos, told Swiss daily Blick.

At this time, over 1,600 refugees are entering Serbia daily, with the figure to rise to as many as 5,000 in March, Vucic said, noting that, initially, 73 percent of refugees were Syrians, who now account for a mere 37 percent, with the number of Moroccans and Algerians rising.

Initially, the refugees were families, but now they are mostly young men, said Vucic.

"Serbia is the only country where no tear gas has been fired at refugees and where none of them have been hurt," Vucic said, adding that the country has treated all of them humanely.
