Vucic said that he had told Russian President Vladimir Putin that membership of the European Union was Serbia's strategic goal.

Vucic:I have told Putin that EU is Serbia's strategic choice

Reinhard Honighaus, spokesman for the European Commission's Representation in Germany, cited Vucic as saying at the meeting with journalists in Belgrade: "I have also told Putin: Serbia's strategic path leads into the EU."

After meeting with the German journalists, Vucic posted on his Twitter account a photograph of the meeting with a caption saying: "With German journalists about Serbia's EU path, our economic reforms, regional cooperation and refugee crisis."
