Russia donates five fire trucks to Serbia

Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic on Thursday took over the keys to five new fire trucks donated by the Russian Federation.

Russia donates five fire trucks to Serbia

One vehicle will be immediately forwarded to Presevo, and another one to Kanjiza where refugees are located, it was stated at the ceremony, while the rest of the vehicles will be forwarded to national parks.

Stefanovic expressed gratitude for the donation, adding that this is yet another step in the cooperation that will be further developed through finding new models.

Our goal is not to have people in Serbia jeopardized in case of emergency and to have the damage downsized as much as possible, he said.

Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandr Chepurin said that this is a symbolic guest and that the aid will be sent to the refugee-dominated areas.

The value of five trucks stands at around three million dollars, while high-pressure modules for extinguishing fire in inaccessible areas are worth USD 80,000.
