"Threat of extremism should not be underestimated"

Vučić warned of the extremist threat, noting that "in the wake of unrest in Bosnia and Herzegovina, many have welcomed the events in Ukraine as a scenario that could take place in Serbia."

"Democratic Party official Borislav Stefanović was the first to make a reference to a 'Ukrainian scenario' and DS leader Dragan Đilas and some extremist parties and groups followed suit," Vučić said.

"They could all unite in a single day and help their friends who are funding them," Vučić said, adding that the fact that several right-wing organizations insist on the same scenario by using the same words is not innocuous.

Talk of a potential "Ukrainian scenario" taking place in Serbia has been started by many parties that realize that their campaigns are ineffective, he said, adding that this should not be underestimated.

Plans to cause chaos are not innocuous at all, and chaos is what is disrupting Serbia - one day of chaos would take Serbia back in time by ten years, the SNS leader warned.

Vučić said that he has not been responding to personal attacks in the electoral campaign, but that he has to react in this case and that he "will not allow extremists to raze the country with guns, sticks or in any other way."

Boris Tadić's former media advisor Nebojša Krstić dismissed the statements on "Ukrainian and Bosnian scenarios" as stupid, adding that those "do not represent the political position of the DS."
