NOVI SAD Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Novi Sad Board President Milos Vucevic has called on the SNS acting leader to reconsider the coalition agreement with the SPS. He said that the main reason for this was the fact that the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) still had not formed local self-governments with the Progressives in several towns across Serbia. SNS urged to “reconsider coalition with SPS” “We request from the SNS Main Board to vote again on the coalition with the SPS, even if the price is the new election that we are not afraid of,” he told a press conference. Vucevic said that SNS acting leader Aleksandar Vucic had the Novi Sad Board’s support but that he must not allow the SPS to humiliate their party. According to Vucevic, the coalition agreement between the Socialists and the Progressives envisages forming of the ruling structures on the republic and all other levels. He noted that it was unacceptable that the SPS still had not formed the coalition with the SNS in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kikinda, Sombor, Leskovac and other towns even though all the conditions had been fulfilled. “You cannot have it both ways, you cannot humiliate the SNS. The Socialists, for example, won three times less votes than we did in Belgrade and they hold 30 percent of the companies in the capital,” Vucevic explained. He added that the SPS was setting “odd” conditions for the forming of the new majority in Novi Sad by offering a party that was not in the coalition with the SNS on the republic level as another coalition partner. The ruling majority in Novi Sad was formed by the Democratic Party (DS), SPS, League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) and the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO). Milos Vucevic Beta
