BELGRADE Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo Head Aleksandar Vulin has called on EULEX to reopen the investigation and find perpetrators of the Gorazdevac crime. He assessed that it was incomprehensible that after so many years not a single suspect had been found or put on trial. EULEX urged to reopen probe into murder of Serb teens “I call on EULEX to reopen the investigation it stopped due to lack of evidence because what more evidence than the killed youths on the Bistrica River they need,” Vulin pointed out. He added that by reopening the investigation, EULEX could at least try to win back the trust of the Serbian community. According to him, the families of murdered Serbs have been waiting for justice ever since the international community came to Kosovo. “Even if they did find their killers, it would be a small consolation for so much pain and suffering, but at least some consolation,” the Office for Kosovo chief stressed. “It is impossible to build an atmosphere of trust and try to find a sustainable and permanent solution if perpetrators of the crimes against Serbs always end up unpunished,” Vulin said. “I request from the international community to take the responsibility for everything that is happening in Kosovo and Metohija and to secure the same standard in protection of human rights for all the people living there, just like citizens of their own countries have,” he told Tanjug. Albanian terrorists shot two Serb teenagers and wounded another four from an ambush while they were swimming in the Bistrica River in the village of Gorazdevac on July 13, 2003. 19-year-old Ivan Jovovic and 13-year-old Pantelija Dakic were shot to death while 12-year-old Marko Bogicevic, 13-year-old Dragan Srbljak, 14-year-old Bogdan Bukumiric and 20-year-old Djordje Ugrenovic were seriously injured in the attack.
