The U.S. wants to cooperate with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic on Serbia's continued EU integration, says State Department Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland. She added that the U.S. also wanted to work together with Nikolic on solving the remaining open issues with Kosovo. “U.S. wants to cooperate with Nikolic” “U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called Nikolic shortly after his inauguration Monday to congratulate him on his election and tell him the U.S. wants to cooperate with him,” Nuland told Tanjug. “In their conversation, Clinton underlined that the fundamental interest was for Serbia to continue its path toward the EU and establish open and transparent relations with Kosovo,” she explained. “Our message is that we want to cooperate with the new president and see Serbia continue its European integration and work on solving the remaining open issues with Kosovo,” said the State Department spokeswoman.
